Brace yourself for more unboxing posts because I just signed-up for a 6-month subscription service from Saladbox. Bwahahahaha! Okay, that was totally inappropriate but I am awkward like that.
I knew about Saladbox for months now but never gotten a chance, or should I say - never really gave in because to be honest they don't have the best reviews or feedback online. But, being that I am makeup newbie, with not enough money to spare for expensive makeup, a Benefit Ph curated box sounds very appealing because this mean that I can finally (yes, finally my first time) try the brand. To add to that, Saladbox is celebrating their 4 years on the business which I thought would be the best time to subscribe because it would mean that a box this month would be extra special.
And, so here we are. . .happy birthday Saladbox! happy first subscription to me!
If you're not familiar with Saladbox, it's a monthly subscription box here in the Philippines. They offer a wide range of plans from 3 months, 6 months up to one year subscriptions. They also offer Saladbox Man which (you guessed it) is a subscription box for men. They just launched a new website and a lot more promos like Saladbox Premier, Starter Plus Plan. You can check out more information about them at www.Saladbox.ph.
For me, I got the 6-month Prepaid Saladbox which cost 3,300 pesos. Monthly box cost 500 pesos plus 100 for shipping but for this particular plan, 3 months worth of shipping is free.
Alright, first off is this sample of the Benefit Air Patrol BB Cream Eyelid Primer which costs around 1,300 pesos for the full size product. The sample sachet included in the box says it is worth 100.
Next up is a deluxe sample kit of the Benefit's HOOLA line that contains Hoola Matte Bronzer, Hoola Liquid Bronzer, Hoola Zero Tanlines and a sponge.
The Benefit Dew the Hoola Liquid Bronzer in full size regularly costs 1,600 pesos and the sample value for the 5 ml pump bottle is 500 pesos.
The Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer in full size also costs 1,600 pesos and the sample value for the 3 gram pressed powder is 500 pesos.
The Benefit Hoola Zero Tanlines body bronzer in full size retails for also 1,600 pesos and costs 500 pesos for the 15 ml sample container.
It came with a sponge which is of great quality, so that's a plus! This is indicated for the body bronzer for easy application but it's great for blending out foundation or BB cream as well.
Another item in sample size is the Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation. I got the shade 'I'm so Money" in a 3 ml plastic bottle. The cost for the full size of this is 1,700 pesos and the sample value costs 250 pesos.
Lastly, the box came with a 500 Benecash which is equivalent to 500 pesos which you can use to buy in any Benefit stores nationwide.
The total value for all the items in the box is 2,350 pesos, if you're going to pay that amount indicated for the sample-sized items.
Okay, now if I really think about it. . .like, really think about it, it's a great value for my money which again I paid 500 and 100 for shipping and I got to try 5 Benefit products for the first time. But, honestly, a part of me is kind of disappointed. First of all, I cannot use the Benecash because there is no Benefit store where I live, not one in my province. Another thing, all products are sample sizes only. Okay, I admit I might be highly demanding here because I only paid 500 pesos and to get these amount of products is pretty nice, but I don't know. . .I think I would prefer a box with one full size product, no coupon or gift certificate and one or two samples. But then again, maybe a full size product is achievable if the box's price is higher. So in totality, it's okay. . .it's not a bad box this month at all. I am still looking forward my other boxes ^__^
until my next ramble,
