Imitation Urban Decay Forever Nude Palette Review & Swatches

I believe in dupes. I believe that quality makeup need not to be expensive. And, I believe that what a lot of high end beauty products can do, a lot of drugstore makeup can do just as good too.

On the other hand, I'm not sure how I stand with imitation makeup. It's piracy I know and I still cringe at the thought of that. I may not even be thinking straight when I bought this palette or I may just be overly curious.

This is a 240 pesos makeup palette that is obviously not an authentic Urban Decay Naked palette. However, I'm pretty impressed by the color pay-off of these. It's not as good but it's definitely not the worst I guess.

The palette comes with 3 matte & 3 shimmer eye shadows, 2 lip colors, 2 shades of blushes and a highlighter. There's a large mirror which is pretty handy. The packaging is a hard plastic which is quite nice. It's compact and travel-friendly in my opinion as well.

Here are the swatches of each product in this palette. The texture & pigmentation is not that bad to be honest especially the eye shadows. The only thing off is the highlighter because since it says it is a highlight there should have been at least a little bit of shimmer. Definitely a must-try if you are looking for an affordable palette and if you're not that overparticular with the makeup brands that you buy or use.

Swatches starting from the Upper Right Eye Shadow of the Palette

LEFT is the brownish blush, MiDDLE is the pinkish blush, RIGHT is the Highlight

Do you have this palette too? What are your thoughts about imitation makeup? Let's talk in the comments below :)

Product Review : MonoMola Long Lasting Lip Color / Wow Lip Tattoo

I love make up but I'm not into lipsticks. Yes, you read that right - I'm NOT a lipstick lover. And I don't wear a full face of makeup on a regular basis as well - but oh how I love makeup! If I can choose one job, I'd be a makeup artist. Here I go again with my random thoughts & babbling. Okay, back to the lipstick. I'm more of a lip tint kind of gal. I'd like something low maintenance, something that I could just splat on my lips, forget about it & get on with my busy day as a mom and a work-at-home admin staff but still looking like I have some color in my life! Well, in my lips for that matter.

That one paragraph worth of story brings me to the main topic of this blog post - my product review of this currently popular lip tattoo. I've seen it all advertised by a few online makeup shops that I follow in Facebook and so I went and ordered two colors. I got it on sale for only 100 pesos each. I'm not sure if these are fake to be honest but I got it from a legit seller in Shopee and the products looked decent when it arrived.

MonoMola is a Korean beauty brand. These lip tattoos claim to be long-lasting, moisturizing, hypoallergenic, waterproof, paraben-free, sulfate-free, alcohol-free, perfume-free & ammonia-free. There are 5 shades available : cherry red & rose pink (which are the ones I got), the other three are sexy red, lovely peach & sweet orange. The lip tattoo is in a 15 grams squeezy tube which for me is not a lot considering that you have to apply more product than you would normally apply when using lip tints or lipsticks. But I got it super cheap, so not complaining here.

Anyhow, I initially wanted to take photos of it on my lips but after too many messy attempts, I settled to just showing it applied at the back of my hand. Here they are a minute after applying. As you can see a lot of product is needed for you to create a not so thin film which you will peel out after 20 minutes. It says on MonoMola site to let the lip tattoo dry for about 5 to 10 minutes but oh no they are still wet as a sponge by the 10 minute mark. This is me in front of a fan by the way with a little mouth blowing added.

Once dried, it's pretty easy to peel off & the color pay-off is pretty nice. It's smudge proof as well. But to be completely honest it is not water proof or long lasting either. I used them for three times already and after I ate lunch and had it on for about 4 to 5 hours, the tint is almost gone.

As a conclusion to this random product review, I would say that if you're really curious and into trying out new makeup trends then go and give these ones a try. It's pretty fun to try out new makeup! As a lip tint junkie like me I really wanted this product to work out, but to be honest I don't like how long it takes for it to dry and the fact that it is not long lasting & water proof as it claims to be.

Have you tried these lip tattoos too? Let's talk in the comments below :)

SampleRoom.Ph Haul

Okay. So, i caved in. I've been spying & secretly drooling (figuratively not literally) with the these goodies in SampleRoom.Ph for weeks because i only have a hundred points in my account which was given to me after signing up. I've been holding myself not to purchase points because i had too much skincare to finish. Until, they launched the Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Duo. And so, i caved in. Signed-up as a VIP member and purchased a thousand points to afford a sample of this dual deal which was worth 900 points.

I think it's pretty cool how the site/company works. If you're not familiar with Sample Room, it offers deluxe and full size samples of products from skin care, hair care, makeup, perfumes/colognes, even health products. But to avail of these samples, you must first sign up for an account. When i signed up, i received a hundred points for free to use to any samples available at the site as long as my points allow which at that time were not so many. And so, i passed on, forgot about it, and convinced myself i don't need more skincare products. I succeeded at that for a few months (Yay!) until i got a promotional email launching Pantene 3-minute Miracle Conditioner (not in the photo above). Along with that email was a coupon code for free shipping (which was very enticing to me since i had to pay 140 pesos as shipping fee to Visayas if i order). To make the long story short - i got a sample of the conditioner (which was worth 50 points so my sign-up points of 100 is more than enough) and i got free shipping. That's an offer i cannot pass - i spent nothing to get a full-size & newly launched conditioner!

Fast forward to June, i got another email promoting the Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Duo which is the face serum & moisturizer (4th products from the left). These were worth 900 points & there was no free shipping coupon offered so it got me thinking. The self-control of a woman who loves skin care is real (LOL). But, if you really think about it - the full size of the serum costs 1399 pesos & the moisturizer costs 399 (for full size, but they'll give you the 14g sample jar). When you sign-up for VIP & purchase 1000 points in the site, you'll have to pay 799 pesos. I can get around 1500 pesos worth of skin care for about half the price. That's a great value to me. On top of that - the points you spent will be reimbursed to your account after you write a review of the samples you got.

And so i got more samples after that and maybe more until my VIP membership points expires after 2 months from the time i signed-up. But, i think i got more than my money's worth :)

You can visit the Sample Room site & learn more about how to avail of their deluxe samples & read reviews of the products they feature as well. Their website is www.sampleroom.ph.

P.S. The products shown in the photo above are : (L-R) Charm Essential Stippling Brush (this i got as a gift for signing up as VIP & buying a thousand points), Olay Total Effects Pore Minimizing Toner, DERMAX Professional Water-Burst Sunscreen SPF 45, Olay Regenerist Youth Serum, Olay Regenerist Moisturizer SPF 15, Himalayas Purifying Neem Face Wash, Burt's Bees Radiance Night Cream, Vitress Hair Repair Cuticle Coat in Relax, Olay Total Effects Pore Minimizing CC Cream.
